The project was intended to help us understand how design agencies have used design management effectively to meet the evolving needs of clients and the creative industry itself.
I was able to get an interview with Director of Strategy, Nathaniel Giraitis in the London office. We spoke on a wide range of topics including the vision of Smart to research, (its importance) and also some of their clients ranging from the profit to the non profit sector.
Based on the interview and the content gathered from research I divided the book into sections that would help one gain a better understanding of the company’s value system, what they stand for, teams and management, process as well as how they have helped their clients innovate over the years.
Alvin Toffler has argued that as our economic system becomes knowledge based, so the generation of ideas becomes the lifeblood of business.” Smart design is an example of a creative company that has managed to link the different entities to emerge as a well oiled machine to deliver some of the finest products of our time, converging and diverging the disciplines and departments according to user and client requirements.
